So ive been trying to figure out how to take off in my 1995 mitsubishi eclipse gst without stalling my car! My 0-60 sucks. Its like 11 sec. Am i doing it bad or could it be my rims? I have 18" koing rims. Idk. Help!! Its a 5 speed with a stage 2 racing clutch and i keep stalling out.

A clump of mowed grass gets caught between the end of the blade and the rim of the lawn mower case. That makes it stall. It's a Weedeater brand gas mower. What brand of mower could I get that would never stall no matter how high the grass is?

Even though you see molasses in the complete, senior and TC growth ingredient lists..the total starch and sugar is extremely low. Want something even lower than Complete.. go to TC Senior. It has not grains so is even lower in NSC than TC Complete and it is not just for seniors...this feed is fed to 3 yr. olds on up. If you have a HOT horse and want to keep them quiet, TC Senior would be a good pick over the Complete. Are the aluminum ABS wheels on a '98 Grand Prix GTP 16x6 or 16x6.5?

1998 Pontiac Grand Prix GTP's had (16 inch) aluminum 5 spoke wheels with "ABS" written on them in the center. They have the same lug pattern as my car, I am curious as to whether those rims would fit the tires I already have or not. My tires are 16x6 and say not to mount on a 16x6.5 wheel. Help me out?

To you, they may look look retarded. But to the owners, the look nice... Other than the look, it is also for better handling. Those big rims comes with broader rubber which make the car safer during cornering and braking. I've been practicing hurdles (30 in-100 meters-youth girls), for about 1 month, and sprinting for about 2 months, and I was stuck with girls who have been doing it for 1-8 years. My place for the hurdles (out of 5 girls) was 4th place; My place for sprinting (btw, I got stuck with the fastest girls;((( ) was also 4th place. Am I doing poorly?

Will 96 civic stock steel wheels fit on my car?

i have a 94 honda civic with mods and one of the mods is it has different brake calipers on it, when i put my 13 in stock wheels on they didnt fit because they were too shallow. i had to put actual rims. im trading with a 96 and were keeping our wheels which he has stock steel wheels for a 96. my calipers are bigger than the normal 92-95 civic but im not sure if they r 96. do u think his stock wheels could fit on my car?

I purchased a used 1992 300zx Joe meyers toyota and when i test drove it it was making a knocking sound. The representative with me at the time told me i had nothing to worry about, it was just lifter tick and needed an oil change The very next day i proceeded with the oil change and still no luck. So the following week i came to the dealership and told them my car still has the 30 day warranty i need to get it checked, its making strange noises and isnt running correctly. The Same salesman went inside and came back 15 minutes later to notify me there was nothing he can do about it and i still had 3 weeks left of warranty. Well a month later im driving on the freeway and my car turns off and smoke starts coming out of my exhaust. I have the engine pulled and checked by a ASE certified mechanic and he told me the car had a bent rod on cylinder #6 (This was supposedly that "Lifter Tick noise the salesman told me about) and a damaged piston on cylinder #5. Why was I told it was nothing to worry about? Was the Salesman ASE certified? How did he know? What happened to "Just one more reason to shop here with us at Joe Myers Toyota where people make the difference!"The only difference they made was neglect my service and wasted my time and money.

55m and 200m hurdle tips, and long jump tips too?

I am also in 7th grade and a girl. i am also the current school record holder with a record of 11'8 for long jump and nearing the record for hurdles.for hurdles: you can do an exercise where you hang your lead leg off the hurdle at your knee joint then quickly snap over. or you can go to a fence and hold onto the top then pull your trail leg up like you would when going over a hurdle. and remember; never let you foot hang, always keep it up and you toe pointed. and for long jump you you should try to run as fast as you can. but dont focus on the line. while you're running at first take a quick glance then at your target which is deep into the pit. and if you thrust your arms up into the air when you take off it gives you higher velocity and more air thus giving you a better distance. HOPE THIS HELPS

I'm so humiliated and depressed :'(?

Mkay so in gym today, we did track and field. I signed up for high jump, and hurdles. This first time I did high jump, I ACCIDENTALLY forgot to jump and just fell forward. People laughed at me EVEN the two guys i have a crush on rite now. I heard a few people snickering and saying, "she didn't even jump!" And then in hurdles, on the last one, the guy I mostly have a crush on, I did a face plant when I tripped ovr the hurdle. An some ppl who were running the track were laughing! Clicking while turning right?

Okay, So my mechanic believes my differential is going bad. I get the "card in spokes" sound when turning right, and only right. It is a rythmic, rotational noise. Does it in neutral, or drive, or foreward or reverse. Can not duplicate sound on rack, Must have the load of the trans and car itself to click. Sounds exactly like half-shafts, but it is not. we just replaced both CV joints. When the wheel si turned completely left, I get a growling, grinding noise. I dont know if my torn Lower control arm bushing and slightly loose front left outer-tie rod have anything to do with it. And I dont know if the clikcing while turning right, and the Grinding and growling when wheel is locked fully left are conected. Car is a 99 olds intrigue with 3.8L and 4T65E M15 3.05 gears with 100k miles on it. I have the money for a full trans rebuild, My mechanic is NOT ripping me off, I work there as an intern and he knows what he is talking about. and A different company would do the rebuild anyway, so he wouldnt get paid. any ideas please? 3 ASE Master techs can not figure out what it is. Would anyone be able to give me the signs of a bad differential anyway?

I am only in the eighth grade and am already holding down records at my school. I run 110 and 300 meter hurdles. For the 110 i run a 16.42 and for the 300 meter hurdles i run a 52 seconds. I hurt my right hind leg and need a second opinion?

i was running on the track today when i mustve got lazy and ended up hitting a hurdle instead of jumping over it. (it hurt a lot and now whenever i try to put pressure on that leg a sharp pain runs up it to about the thigh). i've been trying to support it with my other legs but it's very uncomfotable and im not sure what i should do to take care of it or who to have look at it without having to pay a doctor. does anyone else have any idea what i can do?

Do all bruises go away?

I run Track & Field and am a hurdler. I'm still learning so I tend to always hit my trail leg knee on the hurdle, thus causing bruising. The bruises look like a birth mark b/c they are a few shades darker than my skin tone. It's been over two weeks since Track season was over and I'm wondering will they ever go away.

I have taken the ASE tests 3 times, why can't I pass them?

I have all the ASE study guides, and have studied them endlessly. I almost passed a few of the tests, why are they so damned difficult? Is there any advice out there? I want to be master certified, is there any other study methods for this? Everytime I go to take the tests, they do not have anything to do with the study guides, I paid $180 for all of the study guides, I guess I will just keep trying.

Guy wants to make an offer outside of court...?

I have a feeling the guy I was gonna go to court over ended up getting served the papers today because he called me. Its over a lemon car. I bought a car for $4300 and I've put $2000 in repairs and it still has problems. I know he's scared because there could be criminal charges as well. He wants to settle for $2000 for the repairs ( not including the tows ) and wants me to take my car to his mechanic to have a diagnostic done, he said his mechanic because they can make payments that way. Should I do this or am I taking a risk having his mechanic do work on it. I told him If I do this Id want to see ASE certification, the diagnotic paperwork stating what is wrong and if its longer than a day fix I'll need a rental car because this isn't my fault. I tried making arrangements prior when my motor gave out and he had DC the first time which was 3 months ago. The suit was a little over $5000 and can be up to $6 in CA. Also he wants to give me $1500 cash and then a $500 IOU. He's telling me If I go to court since he doesn't have a job they'd have to do a payment plan as well. Is this true? What do you guys think???? Im not trying to milk anyone I just want what is right. I just want the car that I was told I purchased not the junk it ended up being a day after purchase. I am a 300 hurdler and i have district finals on thursday. I've been have problems with stuttering only over the second hurdle. My count to all the hurdles is supposed to be 15 but i sometimes mentally think im either too close or to far from the hurdle to take off. Would it help me to count 15 steps in my head to the second hurdle? It is very important that I dont stutter in this race.

Finally, I turned the laptop upside down and saw that the cooling vents were clogged with fine dust and silt. After vacuuming the vents, my laptop was back to normal.

Should I leave an independent repair shop for a dealership?

I have been working at the same independent repair shop for about 7 years now. ASE certified master tech and head tech at the shop. Been thinking a lot about leaving for a dealership lately basically because I realize that I am not going to be able to turn wrenches forever and it would be nice to have a company matched retirement plan and a pension when I'm older. I'd like to hear from other techs who have worked been in the field for a while to see differences in working at a dealer vs independent. Also, the idea of not working on rusty cars from 1995 seems pretty good to me too!

What do I do?!?! Please HELP ME :(?

This is kinda long but if you read it and help me out I would really APPRECIATE it. Not many people help each other out in this world anymore....I don't really know how to say how I feel. So I'll try my best. First of all I'll like to say I'm a type of person who absolutely loves to train. I love keeping track of all my runs and the running itself. I've put in a lot of hard work in but I don't know why every time I race competitively I am so hard on myself. My high school has a lot of track races and I'm counted on heavily for points but I get no credit from my coach at all. For an example I was the second highest scorer ALL season by a couple points. The girl who got MVP only got it because she was a pull vaulter and did hurdle events instead of relays which the points split. The events I do are the 2 mile, mile, 800 and 3200 relay. Those are the LONGEST, TOUGHEST events in track. But when we got awards I was not acknowledged at all. Girls on my team who barely even come to practice or put in miles got awards. I feel like all season I was treated like crap by my coach because he doesn't care about the distance runners at all. He cared about the sprinters. Well anyways at the state meet It was over 100 degrees in the stadium but mostly I just gave up mentally and couldn't force myself to care anymore. That was a week ago and I'm still really mad about the whole track season. I really think I could of done better and had better times and fun if I just trained on my own. I really am a nice person. I don't complain much unless something unfair really bothers me. Now I'm confused and sad. Because I had a dream to run on a team in college because I thought it would be fun. But now I have doubts. Is running even more competitive in college. Will I get any credit. How can I care more? I know these are confusing questions that may be vague but if your a runner or person who went through a similar situation PLEASE help me out with some advice!!

Can an ASE certified mechanic shop refund my money back if I am not satisfied with work?

(Dallas, TX)I have returned my personal vehicle(2001 Chevy Tahoe) three times now after a "check engine" light they claimed they diagnosed and "fixed"came back on.I paid them on two different occasions for different parts and labor on the same problem, same diagnostic code. Each time I returned my vehicle was a different part that needed to be replaced. I have not only wasted valuable time, but money on the parts and labor plus rental car fees. Should I get the a Xymox ID Pad or should I get the Ram Pad?

I already have the invader V3 and i love it!!!!! But, I looking for another drum pad to fall in love with because despite all the pros of a invader V3, I most of the time cant tell the difference between me hitting the rim and doing a rim-shot on the pad. And the Ram Pad has a nice metal rim but it will destroy my sticks because it is metal. But on the other hand the xymox ID Pad doesn't have a rim at all and it has a snare sound which none of my pads currently have right now and it is removable so i can have a good pad that has a snare and a hollow articulate sound or a pad that has a rim and feels like a drum and uses an actual drum head that is closer to the drum feel that i feel you can possibly get. So im stuck on which one to get. Also, my friends all have the xymox and love it except that one of my friends has it with the removable snare cartiage and sometimes when you hit it really hard it comes right out from under it.So plzzzzzz help me!!!! Why is it hard to shoot 3 pointers?

I've been playing basketball for a while but every time I shoot 3 pointers I only get 2 out of 5 in. The ball feels so heavy when I shoot from the 3 point line. I have to almost basically throw the ball. I don't have this problem when I'm closer to the rim but when I get further away such as the 3-point line I have trouble shooting the basketball. Its not my accuracy that is the problem its my strength. I'm pretty skinny but I can still shoot the ball and I'm actually pretty tall compared to others. Actually even if they did back date it it would cost $125 to replace the phone since it is a smartphone. No offense but I cant see a screen spontaneously cracking, someone or something caused it to. Its not AT&T's fault it cracked nor HTC's Ive only seen a few people with broken screens with the Aria. Even if you had a defender it will not %100 keep the screen from breaking. Your best bet would be to pay to have the screen replaced. Maybe you can find a local business that repairs phones and get a coupon or something. I do the 110m hurdles and my form is good i have no problems with my lead leg or trail leg except sometimes when i go over the hurdle with my trail leg to low but i can fix that when i really try and focus on it. My problem is that even tho im not a slow guy and preety decent at sprinting when i three step it seems to be slow or i think my three stepping is becoming slower the more hurdles i go over. Hi all. I am in a Bachelors of Science program in Computer Science in the City College of NY, i will be graduating in 2013, and I will go for my masters and get my masters in 2014. I will also do part time work like 3 days a week in my first year when I am not attending my classes for my masters. I have one cousin who doesn't even have a degree and he has a very high salary, think 180k, and all he does is more work to get more money. I want to do the same. My boyfriend has the opportunity to get a better job but in order to get it he needs a brakes certificate. So far we found that either he can do the ASE exam or pay $250 for a taking a class. I signed up for track, how can i prepare?

hurdles are the best!! but really your training will depend on what events you want to do in track. for the 800m or more you'll want to work on distance running. 4 and 5 miles a day. for the 400 meter run or less you'll want to do open sprints and work on form and speed on sprinting. For hurdles, you need to work on getting your hips flexible and running open 100s or 300s. Swimming is good cross training, but you need to actually run to get ready.

Replacing transmission pan gasket?

I have a 1990 Buick Regal Gran Sport with a Transmission Pan Gasket Leak. I've had this car for 3 years now and when I brought it, I had it inspected. That did come up on the inspection but it wasn't necessary to change at the time. Now it is leaking worse and ive had to add transmission fluid from time to time but not often. I check my fluids regularly. Well I had 3 opinions by ASE certified techs on it and 2 out of 3 said that by changing it, it won't hurt the transmission. But that one person said that its a big risk. Im kinda scared to change it because I don't want to have to buy another transmission. The car shifts just fine so that's why I haven't touched it yet. Just want opinions by Techs only please or someone who had a similar problem.

im a senior and pretty much have been injured since junior year of high school. ive done track since i was 8 and have been a 100, 110 hurdles, 200, 300, 400, 400 hurdles, 600 and 800 runner at some point before now. but i also do triple jump, long jump and high jump./ long jump since i was 8 and the other 2 since freshman year. but ever since freshman year after i set the school record in triple jump (41' 8) and freshman record in long jump (19' 8) i have basically only been doing long jump triple jump and high jump since then. and now, i only jump 20' 8, 6'2 (not bad but if not for pain, i could jump way higher) and 43' 8. but i stopped running pretty much since we only had 12 boys freshman year and now over 30 for the boys team and we had loads of distance runners who ran the 400 since my coach doesnt really believe in sprinting (also coaches xc and distance runners). and this year, 110 hurdles. but its gotten to the point where i can only stand for less than 10 minutes without pain, it hurts to jump, i have injuries in both my ankles, both the inside and outside of my knees, achilles pain in both feet, possible toe breaks/sprains and shin problems. and me doing those 4 events have pretty much been what i have done every meet. does anyone know of anyone who did the same events and how did they turn out because its gotten to the point where the doctor said this could possibly have long term effects when im older?

2 weeks ago now, I was doing hurdles at athletics and I think I landed funny. It felt like it was cracking about 3 times each time i landed, and after about 3 hurdles i had to stop. I could barely walk. It was swollen loads for the first few days. After a couple of days my whole foot went blue and my toes had purple lines on them. It has got better to a certain point but I still limp, i can't run and i cannot jump. I can't bend my foot back as far as my other one, and i still have purple bruise lines on the joints to my toes. It also now hurts even when im sitting down, it just constantly aches. Doesn't seem to be getting any better now. Any suggestions?

How to tell if a rim is 10ft tall?

At the park I go to there are 4 basketball courts but 2 seem higher than others people tell me the shorter one is 10 ft and the taller one is 11 ft. But I just don't believe it because I used to play in a 9ft rim and it feels like the one that they say is 10 ft. And at my schools gym which is 10 ft it feels like the one they say is 11 ft. so I would like to know how to tell the difference. I'm 5'9 so I'm not too short to notice the difference. I also don't have a high vertical so I can't touch rim on either hoop. There is also a little meter next to each pole that says they are all 10 ft, which is not true.

How do I keep my puppy entertained when she's in a gated area while we aren't home?

I have a 3 month old Golden Retriever puppy and we have her gated in a small laundry room when it's bedtime or while we are away. And she gets bored and once we let her out she's extremely hyper. It looks as if she just sleeps the whole time she's penned up. Is there anything I can do or give her in that small space to keep her occupied? She's got a Kong but only licks the rim of it for a few minutes then loses interest. I know she will have lots of energy when I do finally let her out, but I don't want her to sleep all day and associate the pen with something negative. I want her to look forward to being in there when we aren't home or are asleep. It's also causing her to not want to come in after we go outside-she'll run from me when I try to get her to take her inside. Why do my legs turn to jelly when I sprint?

When I sprint i reach my top speed and after 50m my legs will turn to jelly and it will be impossible to run. I have never finished a 100m hurdle race without this happening. It sometimes happens in soccer when I get disorientated. It is almost like i am running too fast for my body to handle. Please help? So I can stop face planting whenever I sprint.

The best thing to do is to try and find a truck that already has what you want, after market lift kits and wheels do not add that much to the overall value of the truck. So if you were to buy the truck blue book value 11,000.. it could cost you upwards of 2 or 3 K to get those done yourself. However if you were to buy a truck that already had what you want... you would save money, because a 10 year old Avalanche simply isn't worth 13 or 14 grand... They ultimately lose part of their initial investment, and that is good for you.

What highschool group is this?

about half of them are in the school band, most of them play instruments though, as far as i know only one does not. they usually wear jeans, or cargo shorts and shirts with band names(usually classic bands like pink floyd or led zepplin, sometimes i see weezer or 3 days grace shirts though) or just random designs, no like aeropostale or brand names, or sports shirts. at a school dance 3 weeks ago 6 of them got kicked out for yelling at the dj to play classic rock the whole time and then cursing him off when he didnt. and they do that a lot, whenever they hear pop music they scream to turn it down and put on "good music" or classic rock. most of them do very well in school and see them getting presidential(3.5 gpa) each marking period on the honor roll list. when they are together they are probably the most abnouxious kids i know, but this one kid who plays football who is like 6'4 300 pounds and ripped they hang out with, kind of prevents people from fighting them when they are in public. i hear them talking almost every monday about how they got kicked out of these different places and how it would have been better if they were all there. alone they dont talk and are extremely anti social, so no one really talks to them. most of them have buzzed heads, except 2, one has a mullet and the other just has really long hair. sometimes i will see them come in with wide black rimmed glasses, beanie hats or aviator sunglasses on, usually just for style. whenever they are in public its just guys, because although most of them have girlfriends, there girlfriends arent the "coolest" girls so they usually dont go. so what highschool group could this be im pretty confused

probably a level 2 with a round off bhs. It could depend on your standing too, i know for my gym they would rather you have standing then running tumbling. But if you also have your standing bhs then you would be on a level 2 or a 4.2 (level 4 stunts level 2 tumbling).

It sounds like the mechanics already have it figured out. Probably a rod knock. This might cause low oil pressure also. Your are already close to a quarter million miles, so figure out your next step. Either start saving money for an engine or a new vehicle. In the meantime you could get the oil changed to something heavier like 20w50, it will quiet the knocking some. I would not normally recommend that heavy of an oil, but it might buy you some time if your engine is going out. You still might get years of use if you take it easy and not abuse it.

He also worked on a faceup jumper. Its not great yet but he improved a LOT. He also got a lot more serious about basketball- he decided to stop clowning around. What is your friend talking about? No touch around the rim? He hits all kinds of layups and led the league in dunks. The Hawks put a big, strong defender on Howard who definitely slowed him down. Collins is a pretty good defender. Why is it so difficult to dunk?

Learning the movement is CRITICAL. I have very strong palming ability (palm 2 size 7 balls at once and palm off the bounce on a size 7). You need to continue practicing dunks as well as takeoff style and angle as well how you dunk. For me, I jump 2 feet so when I dunk I take 2/3 quick steps whilst dribbling and then just before takeoff squeeze the ball in both hands, jump off both feet as mentioned and at the apex of the jump I switch it to my dominant hand. The easiest place to dunk from is a small angle from the basket on your dominant side or head on with the hoop. The closer to the baseline the harder it is to dunk. You need a stronger palm it seems, work on your grip strength, I can dunk on just 6 inches below my max touch, I can BARELY touch a 10 foot rim and not hang off yet I can dunk on a 9.5 foot hoop with size 7 ball with 1 arm and a 9.25 with both arms and this is no travelling and just me and the ball no alley oops.

Army or Air force for wheeled mechanic?

Im trying to decide between the army or air force for wheeled mechanic. In the army its 91B and in the air force its Vehicle and Vehicular Equipment Maintenance Apprentice. I want to do this mos because i like working on cars and i feel that this will help me the most in the civilian world. My question is which branch is better for this mos army or air force? Can i get ASE CERTIFIED in the air force or army? I also have a family my son and my wife. Which branch will help the most with getting them a place to live? Will i be able to see my family at least 1 time a week? I plan to stay in till i can retire because i feel that will be the best thing for me. I am 21 years old just in case you need to no my age. at my tech school (WCTC) in Waukesha? Im not sure if its illegal to have it stored in my truck in the school parking lots or even in the county. Its a Mossberg 500, with an 18.5" barrel (18 is legal), J*ust I*n C*ase, in the cylinder case, with a secure lock. I would keep the case tied down and secured in the back of my SUV. Also it would stay in my truck 24/7 (except for maintenance), and no dorms or anything so the truck wuld mostly be parked in a private parking lot. When i would ever use it? not planning on it, and hopefully never would, but like the name says, JIC.

1998 s10 blazer misfiring/stalling problem?

My blazer has been stalling bad when I drive normal, but when put the peddle down to the floor it accelerates perfectly so I kno it's getting fuel. I just changed the spark plugs, distributercap and rotor. The check engine light is on so I hooked it up to the scanner and it said random cylinder misfire, and anthoer code saying activity bank. I noticed a vacum line Goin to the throttle body was rotten so my teacher(which is ase certified) took the rotten line off and stuck a skrew in the line to block it. When he did that it ran perfect, but the next day it was back to the same ol' stalling problem. By the way this all started when i got a new exhaust system put on. I look and the oxygen sensor is on so that not the problem I guess. Another thing is when my engine gets a lil over temp 210 it runs good?. Can someone please help me out asap!?!?

Differential is failing?

Okay, So my mechanic believes my differential is going bad. I get the "card in spokes" sound when turning right, and only right. It is a rythmic, rotational noise. Does it in neutral, or drive, or foreward or reverse. Can not duplicate sound on rack, Must have the load of the trans and car itself to click. Sounds exactly like half-shafts, but it is not. we just replaced both CV joints. When the wheel si turned completely left, I get a growling, grinding noise. I dont know if my torn Lower control arm bushing and slightly loose front left outer-tie rod have anything to do with it. And I dont know if the clikcing while turning right, and the Grinding and growling when wheel is locked fully left are conected. Car is a 99 olds intrigue with 3.8L and 4T65E M15 3.05 gears with 100k miles on it. I have the money for a full trans rebuild, My mechanic is NOT ripping me off, I work there as an intern and he knows what he is talking about. and A different company would do the rebuild anyway, so he wouldnt get paid. any ideas please? 3 ASE Master techs can not figure out what it is. Would anyone be able to give me the signs of a bad differential anyway?
