How will the job outlook be for Computer Science majors (specifically for Software Engineering)?

Hi all. I am in a Bachelors of Science program in Computer Science in the City College of NY, i will be graduating in 2013, and I will go for my masters and get my masters in 2014. I am hoping to get a job as an entry level software engineer in nyc for a salary of about 45-55k or even higher if possible. I will also do part time work like 3 days a week in my first year when I am not attending my classes for my masters. And then, the next year earning a masters and some experience, I will work my butt off to make sure I get a new job and better salary. I really want to do my best in this field, and learn all the languages that I could, and do more work. I have one cousin who doesn't even have a degree and he has a very high salary, think 180k, and all he does is more work to get more money. I want to do the same. I know software engineering is talked about a lot on msn and everywhere , that there is a 40% job growth for application development, systems and even datab ase administration. I will do whatever get me the best job. I know there is talk about outsourcing, but I heard software engineering is recession proof because you need to be on the spot to talk with people. I repeat, I WILl not become a programmer, i want to become a software engineer/applications developer which has prospering growth and job satisfaction up to 2020. Any advice for me? Should I be worried or will I BE GOod?. Thanks.
