Need Android help please?

i have the same home screen loading slow with my droid , i have not found a way to fix that problem, im not sure if rooting would help solve that problem, but to help your battery last longer you could use a task killer often so the apps that you are not using don't continue to use your battery, you can also go to settings and then go to about phone then go to battery use and see what applications use a lot of the battery if you have some some applications that start them self and use a lot of battery they can cause your battery to die faster. I uninstalled a few apps on my phone that started themselves and used a lot of battery and my battery seemed to last longer. im not sure how you charge your phone when its off because when you plug the charger into your phone it should automatically turns the phone back on.
