Why wont at&t or HTC send me a new phone!?

Actually even if they did back date it it would cost $125 to replace the phone since it is a smartphone. No offense but I cant see a screen spontaneously cracking, someone or something caused it to. Its not AT&T's fault it cracked nor HTC's Ive only seen a few people with broken screens with the Aria. Even if you had a defender it will not %100 keep the screen from breaking. Your best bet would be to pay to have the screen replaced. Maybe you can find a local business that repairs phones and get a coupon or something. The rep should have mentioned insurance though, but if you REALLY wanted insurance you should have said something as well to her about it.
